Last March, one of the most anticipated video games for car video game lovers was released: “ Gran Turismo 7 ”. And now a new update has arrived which adds three new cars to the over 300 available in the Polyphony Digital title for PS4 and PS5.
This is 1.23, released yesterday, Thursday September 29th. In other words, anyone who owns the game can now enjoy its new features.
Along with the trio of mounts, they included new locations for Scapes mode , new track events, more customization options, compatibility tweaks for peripherals, and some bug fixes.
Two Electric Rifles and a 90s Classic
The main role in this update is played by the three new cars it includes. Among them we find a legendary 90s, an electric record and a Vision Gran Turismo.
A Japanese ninety. Starting with the first, it is the Nissan Silvia K's Type S (S14) , here known as the Nissan 200SX. He personified the sixth installment of this Japanese coupe, which arrived in 1993. In "Gran Turismo 7" he is available for purchase in the "Legendary Cars" section.
The Silvia had atmospheric and turbo variants, reaching up to 220 bhp . On the menu we find rear-drive manual and automatic gearboxes. A good icon adapted to petrolheads that we could see for example in the first film of the "Fast & Furious" saga with Letty at the controls.
The electric of all records. Second in contention is the Volkswagen ID.R , a large high-performance slush from the German brand with zero emissions per roof. This single-seater prototype, developed in collaboration with Porsche, is a featherweight of just over 1,000 kg that moves thanks to two electric motors, one for each axle.
Together, they add a power of 500 kW (680 CV) and sign the 650 Nm of maximum torque. With these credentials, it signs 0-100 in 2.25 seconds and 0-200 in 5.0 seconds.
The ID.R has come to hold up to three records. Firstly, on its 2018 debut, it won the fastest car crown on the Pikes Peak climb, with a time of 7:57.148 minutes .
Then came two more records. In June 2019, it became the fastest electric car to complete the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring (6:05.336 minutes).
And a month later it did the same at Goodwood , clocking a stratospheric 39.9 seconds, being the fastest car to do so to that date, although it had already been passed.
The Vision Gran Turismo in Stuttgart. This trio of novelties is closed by the Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyder , a prototype born expressly for video games like this whole saga and to which Porsche has finally adhered.
This is the recently arrived convertible variant of this all-wheel drive electric beast which, like the coupé, reaches up to 820 kW (1,115 hp) or up to a spectacular 950 kW (1,292 hp) with the function Overboost Launch Control.
Its credentials mirror those of the closed version: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and to reach 200 km/h it needs just 5.4 seconds. Its peak is set at 350 km/h.
Other news. In addition to these three mounts, "Gran Turismo 7" adds the locations of California and Tokyo for the Scapes mode , that is, two new backgrounds with which to photograph the cars.
And four new events have also been integrated for "World Circuits", as well as compatibility with various steering wheels or bug fixes.
