The world of rallying has been hit by a devastating tragedy, with the death of Craig Breen following an accident while preparing for Rally Croatia . His brand, Hyundai , confirmed the terrible news in an official statement, sending condolences to his bereaved family.
Breen lost his life during the team's collective testing in the Balkan country ahead of next weekend's competition. Fortunately, his co-pilot is unharmed.

Although little information has been provided about the crash, it appears Breen lost control of his car and crashed into the fences after leaving the track in a cobbled area. Unfortunately, the pilots' area was badly affected and 33-year-old Craig Breen did not survive.
Breen was an experienced World Rally Championship driver , having recently joined the Hyundai team after a stint with Ford . During his WRC career , he achieved nine podiums, but never achieved a victory. In 2023, he participated only in Rally Sweden, where he finished in second position.
Fortunately James Fulton , Breen's co-pilot , was spared the crash and suffered no damage. However, 33-year-old Breen was not so lucky and sadly lost his life. Hyundai expressed its condolences to the family and has decided not to comment further at this time.
