SEAT already has the most expensive car in its history: the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 Taiga Gray costs almost as much as the Audi RS 3

The CUPRA Formentor is the first exclusive model of the brand, it has no equivalent at SEAT. And in the Formentor range, the VZ5 version is the most exciting of them all, fitted with Audi's brilliant 2.5-litre turbo five-cylinder. Today, CUPRA is going on sale with the CUPRA Formentor VZ5 Taiga Gray special edition, the brand's most exclusive car to date and the most expensive in SEAT's history.
The Formentor VZ5 Taiga Gray is a limited series of 999 units , of which only 46 are destined for Spain . The exclusivity of the model does not only come from its price, but it is a limited series of a limited series.
The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 is a truly special model for the brand and all fans, and exclusive for more than one reason. First, it is the only model of the Volkswagen group to be able to equip the legendary 5-cylinder Audi.
It is also a limited series of 7,000 copies in total. And of these 7,000 VZ5s, only 999 will be in Taiga Gray with a brown leather interior. And of these 999 we can only 46 in Spain, at a price of 73,590 euros per unit (5,810 euros more than a Formentor VZ5). Or what has been the same, 5,470 euros less than an Audi RS 3 Sportback . It will be rarer to see a Formentor VZ5 Taiga Gray than a Ferrari.
Rare are the brands that have been able to use the five-cylinder Audi inaugurated with the RS 3. To the point that Audi would have opposed Volkswagen by using it in the Golf R.
So, apart from Audi, only KTM, with the X-Bow GTX , and Donkervoort were able to use this engine. Until the arrival of the CUPRA Formentor. Of course, in the case of CUPRA, the engine remains below 400 CV to maintain the hierarchies.
How was SEAT, sorry, CUPRA able to use the Audi engine? Perhaps this is due to the links that unite the two brands. SEAT and therefore CUPRA were for a time under the tutelage of Audi, like Lamborghini or Ducati.

A single setup
What differentiates the Cupra Formentor VZ5 Taiga Gray Edition from the "normal" Cupra Formentor VZ5 is the Taiga Gray color, which was created exclusively for this model.
The interior features a special design with black suede patterns and brown perforated Nappa leather seats with copper colored stitching. Another special feature of this model is that each of the 999 units will have its production number laser engraved on the driver's door panel.
The rest of the Cupra Formentor VZ5 in the Taiga Gray edition has the same specifications and equipment as the Formentor VZ5. It includes the five-cylinder 2.5 TSI block of 390 hp and 480 Nm of torque associated with a 7-speed DSG transmission.
It offers a sophisticated chassis with adjustable damping and configurable all-wheel drive thanks to the torque-vectoring Torque Splitter system. This system distributes the torque between the front and rear axles, as well as the distribution between the left and right wheels of the rear axle. It also has a Drift mode.
Also noteworthy are the brakes with six-piston calipers on the front wheels signed Akebono , accompanied by larger ventilated and perforated discs (375x36 mm), exclusive 20-inch rims and carbon fiber elements throughout its bodywork.
As for the standard equipment, it includes the pre-collision assistant, knee airbag for the driver, rear side airbags and volumetric alarm.
The Beats Audio audio system, which incorporates 9 speakers, a subwoofer, surround technology and a 340 W power amplifier, is optional (606 euros). Electric heated bucket seats with leather upholstery (1,795 euros) are also optional.
