Announcement to gamers: "Le Mans Ultimate", official video game of the WEC, arrives this year to mark the centenary of Le Mans

Fans of the World Endurance Championship and motorsports are in luck, as the official WEC video game is about to be launched. This simulation game will relive the demanding experience of this competition, including both the vehicles and the official circuits.

Titled 'Le Mans Ultimate', the game should be available by the end of the year. For those attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend, a first demo of the game will be offered with a racing simulator. In addition, they will also have the opportunity to test a limited edition of the Thrustmaster steering wheel.

The Motorsport Games label and the Studio 397 studio, experts in simulation and motorsport games, worked together on the development of the game entitled "Le Mans Ultimate". This game is currently in its final stage of development and is scheduled to be released in December 2023. Although no trailer has yet been unveiled to showcase its benefits, the game's official YouTube channel has already been registered, which which means that we will soon be able to consult it.

The game features all World Endurance Championship (WEC) events as well as collaborative online racing. The developers have specified that it is the official game of the championship and highlight the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most emblematic event which celebrates its centenary in 2023.

The two official cars that will participate this year will be available, including Hypercars from Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota. The circuits where these cars compete will also be present, including Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, Monza in Italy, Fuji Speedway in Japan, to name but a few.

The game offers different levels of difficulty, ranging from beginner to advanced, allowing cars to be configured with various parameters. Game performance and physics will be that of rFactor 2.

In addition to this, the game will include an online multiplayer mode that will allow players to participate in collaborative asynchronous races. These online races will be both competitive and informal, providing an opportunity for practice. The goal is to form an eSports championship.

The game will initially be available only on PC, but there are plans to make it available on next-gen consoles as well, likely the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The goal is not to release a new edition of the game every year, but rather to update it for subsequent seasons. DLC expansions may also be offered to enhance the gaming experience, although they will be available after the game's initial launch.

Le Mans Ultimate will allow visitors to test its demo on the Le Mans circuit during the "24 Hours of Le Mans" which will take place this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday 10 and 11 June. During this French event, “Le Mans Ultimate” will organize its first aperitif.

Participants will have the opportunity to compete on the circuit with two car models, the Porsche 963 Hypercar or the Ferrari 488 GTE. The Games Zone in the Family Space will be equipped with 10 simulators for this occasion. In partnership with Thrustmaster, a limited edition Thrustmaster T818 racing wheel will also be raffled off among the participants.

Pricing for “Le Mans Ultimate” has yet to be announced and will be revealed later as the release date approaches. Details on the system requirements for the video game will also be communicated later.
