Audi Reveals Innovative Interior of Q6 e-tron Electric SUV at IAA Munich 2023

Audi Q6 e-tron

A Revolutionary Approach for a Clean Vehicle

During the presentation at the Munich Motor Show, Audi surprised by only unveiling a camouflaged version of the Q6 e-tron, its brand new electric vehicle, thus guaranteeing zero CO2 emissions. However, instead of showing off the exterior, the brand chose to highlight its all-new cabin-focused design approach, demonstrating its commitment to reducing pollutants in the automotive sector.

AUDI

Innovation from the Inside

Audi announces that the Q6 e-tron, powered by a rechargeable electric motor, has been designed from the inside out, an approach made possible by the PPE electric platform, shared with Porsche, and part of the trend of electric and ecological cars. This approach makes it possible to optimize interior space and reduce CO2 emissions, thus contributing to the preservation of the environment when purchasing electric vehicles.

Cocoon Atmosphere and Intelligent Use of Materials

To create a warm atmosphere, Audi introduced the notion of continuity between the dashboard and the doors, materialized by a strip called “Softwrap”. This strip becomes a functional design element, with materials differentiated according to areas. Those which correspond to controls “are dressed in a high-quality gloss black to provide the clarity necessary for interaction with the vehicle”. Those that “emphasize comfort are distinguished by their large surfaces and soft materials.” The Softwrap can thus be covered with recycled fabric (which can also cover the seats), thus reducing the carbon footprint.

Curved and Touch Screens for an Eco-Friendly Car

Above the Softwrap, a new set of all-electric and touch screens is highlighted, with an 11.9-inch screen for the instrumentation and a 14.5-inch screen for the MMI infotainment . Everything is tactile. The passenger has their own 10.9-inch screen in front of them, providing space to watch a movie, without the driver being able to see it. A touch control panel is present on the driver's door, with the functions of the mirrors, seats and lighting. Let's see if it's practical to use for an ecological car!

Audi Q6 e-tron 5

New Electronic Architecture and Advanced Connectivity for Green Cars

The vehicle inaugurates a new electronic architecture, E3, developed by the Volkswagen group's software subsidiary, Cariad, thus making it possible to optimize energy efficiency, thereby reducing kWh consumption. This innovation should enable advanced connectivity with voice assistance that learns as it is used to better assist the driver, while helping to reduce CO2 emissions. For example, recurring operating sequences are automated, like air conditioning settings.

Enhanced Driving Experience for an Eco-Friendly Car

As an option, the model can have an augmented reality head-up display, projecting information in front of the driver via the inclined windshield. Ambient lighting contributes to the look, but also to the functions, allowing for example to visualize the dynamic indicators or the charge level, while reducing CO2 emissions.

Audi Q6 e-tron 4

Cargo Capacity and Perspective for Green Vehicles

Audi announces a 526-liter trunk, thus encouraging the purchase of plug-in electric vehicles. The volume can reach 1529 liters by folding the 40/20/40 bench seat. Under the front trunk there is a 64-litre space, offering lithium-ion battery charging options, suitable for fully electric electric cars.

Autonomy of the Ecological Car

The range of the Q6 e-tron electric car is a key element for environmentally conscious drivers. Although full technical details are yet to be revealed, Audi is focused on finding solutions to extend the range of this fully electric vehicle.

Plug-in and Charging for All Electric Cars

With the rise of electric and eco-friendly cars, the electricity grid plays an essential role in recharging green vehicles. Electric and plug-in car owners will appreciate efforts to develop efficient charging infrastructure, reducing range concerns.

Waiting for Exterior and Technical Details

We will therefore have to wait for another show, perhaps that of Los Angeles in November, to discover the exterior of the Q6 and have the technical details, even if we had some information during our preview handling of a prototype. This will help electric vehicle buyers make an informed decision when purchasing an all-electric vehicle model, while helping to reduce CO2 emissions in the automotive sector and expand the use of green cars across the world. highways and in the electricity network, while enjoying the advantages of purchasing electric and eco-friendly vehicles.
