BMW M4 Competition 50th Anniversary: ​​unlimited speed and exclusive combination for almost 25,000 euros more

BMW M continues to celebrate  its 50th anniversary  in style and the latest gift to arrive is this special edition of the brutal  BMW M4 Competition Coupé. Named  BMW M 50th Anniversary, this three-door coupé  is distinguished by a differential combination and benefits from the M Race Track package.

Of course, this anniversary variant will be very limited in our market. Only 700 units will see the light of day with, for one part,  the rear-wheel-drive variant and for the other, the BMW M4 Competition Coupé M xDrive.

And we already know its price: it starts at  143,997 euros , or about 24,500 euros more than the classic, since it starts at 119,450 euros.

This  M4 Competition M 50th Anniversary Edition  joins other firsts from the hand of half a century of BMW M Motorsport, such as  the BMW M3 Touring  or the  previewed modern BMW 3.0 CSL  which will be the icing on this important anniversary.

Farewell to the speed limiter, but the same 510 hp

The  BMW M4 Competition M 50th Anniversary  includes the Exterior Pack as standard, making it sportier, as well as new trims in visible carbon fiber for the interior or the  carbon M bucket seats  with covers also in this lightweight material, which saves 9.6 kilos for the Positioner.

But it also incorporates the  maximum speed limitation of  the M Race Track Package, thus increasing to  290 km/h instead of the classic 250 km/h. And this edition is compatible with other technical, cosmetic or equipment upgrade packs.

However, this M4 Competition M 50th Anniversary is also distinguished by specific elements, such as  five exclusive body colors , all from the BMW Individual personalization program: Carbon Black, Macao Blue, Brands Hatch Grey, Imola Red and Blue San Marino Blue.

The  wheels  are available in a  matte Orbit Gray or matte Gold Bronze finish , which are still 19-inches in the front and 20-inches in the rear. The upholstery is in black merino leather with the emblem of the edition embroidered and the set is completed by specific plates for the door sills with the inscription 'M4 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M' or the plate indicating the unit of the limited edition.

All these ingredients are combined with the advantages of the BMW M4 Competition Coupé, starting with the heart of the inline six-cylinder engine with 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo technology, 510 hp and 650 Nm.

This is managed by an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic sequential transmission, which transmits all the power to the rear axle or to both axles in the case of xDrive, whose traction can be disconnected to become propulsion.

It also has  a rear axle with an active M differential  and is shortened by brakes with six-piston fixed calipers and 380 millimeter discs for the front axle and single-piston floating calipers with 370 millimeter discs for the 'back.

With these ingredients, it does 0-100 in 3.9 seconds, or  3.5 seconds  in the case of xDrive, the top speed of the   aforementioned 290 km/h.

Beyond its sporting credentials, it benefits from full equipment, dominating the cabin with the  BMW Live Cockpit Professional panel  which combines digital instrumentation and the multimedia screen (respectively 12.3 inches and 10.25 inches). But also the M steering wheel or the Full-LED headlights, among others.
