Can we make the end of "Fast X" a trilogy? Request made to Vin Diesel to continue the saga

After two decades of frantic racing, the " Fast & Furious " saga is coming to an end. The latest opus, entitled " Fast X ", will be released in theaters on May 19 and will put an end to the adventure of the atypical family of Dom Toretto.

Originally planned to be told in two films, this conclusion should be presented in "Fast X", which is the first part. Recent statements from Vin Diesel hint that the franchise may not end as planned, and that a third installment may be added, bringing the total number of films to 12.

A trilogy to say goodbye to the family

At the film's Rome premiere , Diesel revealed that the studio originally asked him if " Fast X " could be a two-part film, but after seeing the result they offered to make "Fast X". X" the last part of a trilogy.

He did not, however, confirm the making of a twelfth "Fast & Furious" film and ended the interview shortly after discussing this third part.

The franchise began with the story of a police officer infiltrating a gang of street robbers in the style of " Point Break " and remained true to the tuning culture in California and the United States in the 2000s.

After placing a heavy emphasis on urban tuning culture in two previous films, the franchise's producers then moved on to car heists (as seen in 'Fast 5', which has at least 24 similarities with 'The Italian Job') and even for a space adventure. One might now wonder if they have plans for a collaboration with the Marvel Universe .

The latest installment, in which cars return to center stage , was released last Friday, while an eleventh installment is slated for 2025. However, the studio has yet to confirm whether there will be a twelfth installment and, in if so, when it might hit theaters.
