Three years after presenting its first electric supercar at Pebble Beach, the 1,200 hp Drako GTE and a platform signed Fisker, the supercar manufacturer based in San José, California (USA), returns to the fray with another unknown offspring: a kind of 'super SUV' in an electric key called Drako Dragon.
Drako Motors has already dropped the first images of its new electric in the form of a teaser, and although it's not supposed to be in its final form, it does feature some striking features such as butterfly doors and curved shapes. which, in part, is reminiscent of the GTE.
Moreover, the manufacturer anticipates that its future "super SUV" will reach a speed of more than 321 km/h (200 mph) and promises that it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 1.9 seconds.
The San Jose-based company was founded by Dean Drako (co-founder and CEO of Barracuda Networks) and Shiv Sikand, an electronics engineer who co-founded tech company IC Manage, both confessed lovers of the ill- fated Fisker Karma .
Perhaps that's why, in addition to using the same platform, the Drako GTE has such a similar design (especially when viewed from the side). Defined by its creators as an "electric hyper sedan", it has four motors (one on each wheel) which together produce more than 1,200 HP and propel it to a maximum speed of 332 km/h.

The brand announced in 2020 a limited production of 25 units at a unit price of 1.25 million dollars (approximately 1.13 million euros) each and, today, many of these GTEs are still "under construction" for delivering it to clients and investment partners.
In the meantime, Drako Motors did not want to wait to reveal the first data of its Dragon and awaken "the hype" with the first information and images that it shared these days both on its website and on its networks.

For the moment, and in terms of design, it seems that the Drako Dragon will inherit from its brother the distinctive features of the front panel such as its pointed optics and its curved lines . It also debuts in gull wings and appears to feature a large hood scoop as well as carbon fiber throughout many elements.
The future sports SUV was designed in Italy by Lowie Vermeersch , who in addition to having worked in the ranks of the Pininfarina design studio, is also responsible for the forms of the GTE. Regarding cabin design, the Dragon's interior "will be wrapped in the finest and most sumptuous leather in Europe" and will accommodate five passengers .

The engineering work is being done in Silicon Valley, and Drako Motors has already announced that its second offspring will also have four motors , which in this case will produce 2,000 hp together, and promises that “it will have three-stage adaptive suspension and individual wheel torque control.
For the time being, Drako Motors specifies that reservations for Dragon "will open soon", and that the SUV should be presented in its final form before the end of this year .
Regarding the price, he only advanced that "it will be competitive for the one that currently exists in its segment", although the truth is that if its characteristics and advantages are true, we would in fact, practically, be faced to a new segment.
