After a break of nearly a month, the World Cup is back with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix taking place in Baku this weekend. As Formula 1 arrives on European soil, it's time to familiarize yourself with the unusual timings of this special race, as well as the options for watching it on TV and online.
Due to the sprint format of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix , the timings will not be the same as those usually used in Europe. Many changes are to be expected, as the format of the race will also be different. Red Bull seems to have an advantage after the first races, but we'll see what Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin are capable of.
Verstappen is the favorite to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, given the strong dominance of his Red Bull team in the previous three races. However, it remains to be seen how the internal battle will develop with teammate Sergio Pérez , who excels on street circuits. The competition between the two Red Bull drivers seems to be the main source of excitement in determining the winner of the world championship.
Aston Martin is considered the closest alternative. Fernando Alonso was a big surprise in Bahrain, but his performances in Saudi Arabia and Melbourne confirm he is a strong contender. It will be crucial to see if Aston Martin have been able to improve their rear wing, which gave them a lot of problems at the start of the season.
At Ferrari , the situation is tumultuous as the team has yet to make it onto the podium this season. We are waiting to see the performances of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz . Mercedes are planning to change the design of their car, which could end their season, or even more. However, Aston Martin is not worried with the same engine.
Regarding the schedules, the classification of the sprint race will be announced on Saturday. Friday at 3:00 p.m. peninsula time will be the classification, followed by the sprint race on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. For Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix , the times have been brought forward and the race will start at 1:00 p.m.
There are no significant weather forecasts for this weekend, and the track should remain dry with moderate temperatures. In addition, the tires will degrade considerably on this traditional circuit.
