The new generation of the Mini Countryman, initially offered with gasoline engines, is now available in an electric version. The latter is available in two variants: E and SE. This electric vehicle is part of a growing trend towards more sustainable mobility, responding to current environmental concerns.
The year 2024 promises to be electrifying for Mini, with the British manufacturer planning the launch of three trendy models: the new generation of the 3-door Mini, the small Aceman SUV and the electric Countryman. The initiative reflects automakers' growing commitment to electric vehicles and alternative propulsion technologies.
Just like the gasoline version, the large electric SUV is available in two variants: E and SE. The first is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 150 kW, or 204 hp, while the second benefits from two motors, thus offering ALL4 all-wheel drive, with a cumulative power of 230 kW, or 313 hp. Both versions are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 64.7 kWh, offering a range of 462 km in the WLTP mixed cycle for the E variant and up to 433 km for the SE. Battery charging can be done using a dedicated charging point or a household socket, providing increased flexibility for users wishing to charge their electric vehicle.
The range of finishes starts with the Essential version, which already offers complete equipment including LED headlights, anti-collision alert with active braking, lane keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, dual-zone automatic climate control, OLED touch screen navigation, a reversing camera, electric and heated mirrors, as well as a 40/20/40 rear seat.
The other trim levels mainly offer additional aesthetic elements for the interior and exterior. However, you have to upgrade to the Favored level to benefit from a more refined design, with aluminum-colored protective elements and 18-inch rims. At the top of the range, the JCW finish is distinguished by a specific body kit, without an increase in power.
The prices displayed on the Mini website for the Mini Countryman electric range are as follows:
Finishing | E – 204 ch | SE ALL4 – 313 hp |
---|---|---|
Essential | €44,000 | €49,500 |
Classic | €46,420 | €51,920 |
Favoured | €50,070 | €55,570 |
JCW | €52,080 | €57,580 |
The use of electric vehicles helps reduce CO2 emissions and other pollutants associated with the burning of fossil fuels. In addition, many governments offer financial incentives, such as conversion bonuses and green bonuses, to encourage the purchase of electric vehicles. These incentives aim to stimulate the electric vehicle market and accelerate the transition to more environmentally friendly mobility.
All-electric and plug-in vehicle models are gaining popularity in the automotive market, with a significant increase in electric car registrations. Car manufacturers are investing in the development of electric powertrains and lithium-ion batteries to meet the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles. Additionally, the emergence of range extenders allows electric vehicles to travel longer distances, increasing their appeal to a wide range of consumers.
In conclusion, the electric Mini Countryman represents an important step in the evolution towards more sustainable mobility. With its impressive performance, extensive range of finishes and competitive prices, this electric vehicle model is aimed at those looking for an ecological and modern alternative for their daily journeys.
