New Generic Changan Qiyuan A07 Electric Sedan: A Revolutionary Advance

Currently, it seems that the Chinese electric market is experiencing a return in favor of sedans, and Changan is preparing to launch its new Qiyuan A07 in an already saturated market.

Changan is determined to catch up on EV sales. The state group is therefore deploying new brands and novelties. After the launch of Avatr (in partnership with Huawei and CATL), Deepal and Lumin, here comes Qiyuan. This is a new brand entirely dedicated to electric vehicles, presented as a slightly less premium range than Deepal, but more modern than Changan. This subtle differentiation is characteristic of new Chinese brands.

The first model to sport the new logo will be a large sedan, the A07. Recently, Changan accused Geely of having copied its Uni-V sedan with its Galaxy E8. In the case of the A07, there's no denying that it takes inspiration from multiple similar sedans such as the Nio ET7, Xpeng P7 and Neta S. , a receding rear, clean lines, slender lights with a continuous headband at the front and rear, as well as the enhancement of certain aerodynamic elements.

Compared to its competitors, it stands out by offering the convenience of a tailgate to access its trunk, which perhaps testifies to a desire to improve an aspect often neglected by Chinese models.

Inside, the Qiyuan A07 is equipped with a large screen and ignores the traditional instrument cluster in front of the driver. However, it has a head-up display. The rest of the cabin conforms to current standards: no physical controls, minimal styling, electric door control, a driver monitoring camera on the steering column and an additional camera in the roof. However, she opts for classic aerators.

With or without range extender

Like its Deepal cousins, the Qiyuan A07 will offer the choice between a fully electric version, equipped with a 190 kW motor and a large battery (capacity and autonomy not desired). However, it will also be possible to choose a model with a smaller battery (28.9 kWh), a 160 kW motor and a range extender in the form of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (70 kW / 95 hp) under the hood. The electric autonomy of this second model will be 170 km, but the total autonomy should approach 1000 km.

The Qiyuan A07 is not intended for distribution in Europe. Instead, Changan planned to launch Deepal on our continent as a priority.
