Tesla achieves exceptional results in the first half of 2023 with record sales

Tesla recorded another exceptional quarter with record results. Between April and June, the manufacturer delivered more than 460,000 cars globally, which also contributed to a strong increase in performance over the half year as a whole.

The past quarter has been excellent for Tesla, with a total of 466,140 vehicles delivered worldwide, surpassing financial analysts' forecasts of 448,000 sales. The Model 3 and Model Y duo led sales, accounting for 446,915 units, with SUVs likely dominating. During the first quarter of 2023, the Model Y was even the best-selling model in Europe, all engines combined.

Following these last two record quarters, the results for the half-year also soared, with 888,000 vehicles delivered from January to June. Compared to the first half of the previous year which saw 565,000 deliveries, this represents an impressive increase of 57%.

These remarkable results were largely supported by the price reductions carried out in January and April on the whole range, in particular on the 3 and Y models, whose price-quality ratio is now very competitive in their respective categories.

However, Tesla cannot simply be satisfied with its past successes. In order to reach its target of 1.8 million sales by 2023, the automaker will need to sell nearly one million models in the second half of this year. This quarter will be particularly important as it will see the highly anticipated launch of the new Model 3.
