Tesla crosses the milestone of 100,000 cars sold in France

A historic event occurred this week: the American brand delivered its 100,000th car in France.

Yesterday, a Bordeaux owner received a one-of-a-kind Tesla Model 3 Propulsion , marking the acquisition of the brand's 100,000th vehicle in the country.

This event offers the opportunity to recall some key dates and important figures that have marked the course of the brand of Elon Musk in France. It all started in 2009 with the delivery of the first Roadster, Tesla's very first electric car. It then took six years, until the end of 2015, to reach the figure of 1,000 vehicles with the Model S.

Thereafter, the situation got out of control when there were around 5,000 Teslas in circulation in France at the end of 2018. This trend intensified a few weeks later with the arrival of the Model 3 , thus crossing the 10,000 mark in August 2019. Sales then experienced exponential growth, approaching verticality with 50,000 vehicles bearing the "T" logo in February 2022. And only 16 months later, this fleet had doubled to reach six figures!

It therefore took thirteen years to deliver the first 50,000 vehicles, but only 16 months for the next 50,000, which shows an impressive acceleration like a Model S Plaid .
