The Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75 is a tribute to the Corsica Rally in a limited edition at 81,900 euros

Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75

Alpine hasn't stopped lately with  limited editions of its A110  , or at least they're crowding into its collection. If last month we showed you how  Miami's "New RetroWave" style suited him , or how he celebrated its founder's centennial by dressing in  his favorite color , now is the time to commemorate one of the appearances originals of the A110 at the Corsica Rally.

The chosen one is the  1975 Tour de Corse  , which gives its name to this special version which will only have 150 copies at a price which in Spain will start at 81,900 euros.

What is curious is that,  in this edition, Alpine did not take the victory  : the honored car, driven by Jean-Pierre Nicolas, occupied second place, just 32 seconds behind the winner, the  Lancia Stratos  of Bernard Darniche.

After such a fight, staying so close to victory was a jug of cold water for the team since the Corsican event, legendary for its toughness (not in vain, it was always 'the rally of 10,000 bends') had been up to that time one of its fiefs. But the disappointment will be greater with time, because  Alpine no longer wins  on Napoleon's native island.

It was perhaps this bittersweet memory that encouraged today's Alpine to commemorate this hard-fought podium with the '  Tour de Corse 75' edition. It's based on  the A110 GT,  which means it has the same  300bhp  thanks to the turbocharged 1.8 four-cylinder that it mounts (as tradition dictates) in the rear.

Thus, the mechanics are the same but not its clothing. On the outside, the body takes on a yellow tint which is combined with a black roof and hood. On the sides and rear, several black and white vinyls alternate to  mimic the official decoration  of Alpine during the 1975 World Rally Championship season.

The retro "suit" is completed  with orange brake calipers and 18-inch wheels,  with the same design as those of the GT variant but in a white finish very typical of current rally cars.

Inside,  suede leather dominates almost everything  , being especially present on the seats (two bucket seats signed Sabelt) and the dashboard, where it manages to reproduce the  'flock' coating  that we are used to seeing in the on-board cameras of our favorites. Drivers.

At the lower end of the central area is  the commemorative plaque  , screen-printed with the Tour de Corse 75 edition logo and the unit number. Just below are the multimedia system USB ports, ready to use  Android Auto or Apple CarPlay .

The Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75 is a limited series of only 150 examples for the whole world, and can now be ordered from Spanish dealers from  81,900 euros, almost 9,400 euros more  than the "normal" GT. ". And it is that, as a certain reality TV show has taught us, history also has a price.
