The Audi e-tron will become the “Q8 e-tron” and will be more efficient

On November 9, the restyling of Audi's flagship electric SUV is presented. The Sportback version is also confirmed

Goodbye e-tron, welcome Q8 e-tron : the largest electric SUV in the Audi range is ready to change its design and identity. Together with the restyling of the "former" e-tron, the House will add the new Q8 prefix to clarify how this model will once again be the largest of the entire Ingolstadt electric family.

The official announcement comes directly from Audi, which makes an appointment on November 9 to discover every detail of the SUV.

It updates in style and efficiency

The teaser video published by the German brand presents both the Q8 with SUV body and the Sportback in the SUV coupé version. The text of the post also refers to battery consumption which for the first Q8 e-tron is between 24.4 and 20.1 kWh / 100 km, while for the second in 24.1-19.5 kWh / 100 km.

Overall, this would be an improvement over the current e-tron. In the 408 hp 55 quattro version, for example, the declared consumption is between 26.1 and 22.22 kWh / 100 km for the SUV and 25.9-21.5 kWh / 100 km for the Sportback.

This would result in a significantly higher range than the current 440 km and it is likely that the performance data will also improve, with 0-100 km / h acceleration of less than 6.6 seconds.

However, there will be sportier versions and many customization possibilities thanks to the various packages available.

In any case, the Audi will continue to be built on a modified version of the MLB Evo platform, the same one used for the thermal Q8. Like its combustion engine counterpart, the Q8 e-tron will also be the largest in the electric family that also includes the Q4 e-tron and will soon see the arrival of the Q6 e-tron.
