This spring, BMW unveiled the credentials of the new BMW 7 Series , its flagship: a luxury sedan closer to a limousine. And beyond the paragon of luxury and technology it hides, one of its strengths is that it has an electric variant: the BMW i7 .
Although the marketing of the 7 Series will begin in Spain in December this year, the Bavarian brand reveals in advance the price that this BMW i7 will have on our market: 137,900 euros , corresponding to the i7 xDrive60.
BMW had already announced that this i7 would open the marketing of the 7 Series in Europe. But it will not be the only one: a 300 hp mild hybrid diesel version will also be launched on our market, also at the end of the year, and in early 2023 its plug-in hybrid variants will arrive, the 750e xDrive and M760e xDrive with up to at 570 hp.

The BMW i7 is a huge sedan that measures 5.39m long , almost 2.0m wide and 1.54m high, with a very generous wheelbase of 3.21m. To put these numbers into context, it exceeds the Mercedes-Benz EQS in length (5.21m) and only the Maybach S-Class with its 5.47m is longer.
On the aesthetic level, we find the oversized vertical kidneys that are present in many novelties of the German brand. The i7 is identical to the rest of the 7 Series except for scattered blue accents on the fenders or side skirts.
A 544 hp electric limousine. The announced variant for this BMW i7 is the xDrive60, which has two electric motors (one per axle) and is all-wheel drive. By adding the forces, the two blocks sign the 544 hp and 745 Nm of torque.

These propellers draw their energy from a 101.7 kWh battery with which it homologates up to 625 km . Additionally, its charging system supports either up to 11kW on a household outlet or up to 195kW on DC super fast chargers. Depending on the power of the station, it promises to recharge up to 170 km in 10 minutes.
As for its performance, its maximum speed is 240 km/h, electronically limited, and despite its size and weight (2,715 kg), it promises to do the 0-100 in 4.7 seconds.

Same movie screen. The screens are the hallmark of the BMW i7, which practically does without physical buttons, since they are limited to those located in the central tunnel. On the diaphanous dashboard, there is a gigantic curved panel that combines the instrumentation (12.3 inches) and the multimedia display (14.9 inches).
But they are not the only ones: in the rear doors, integrated into the handles, two 5.5-inch screens allow passengers in this row to control certain aspects of the car and the multimedia system, in particular the air conditioning or the position of the seats. .

And as an option, the BMW i7 will have a cinema screen , which unfolds from the roof behind the front seats. Designed for the enjoyment of rear occupants, it features 31 inches and up to 8K resolution . A complete home cinema, where you can watch videos, play video games or watch streaming platforms with Prime Video or Netflix.
Pure luxury. Among the advanced advantages of the BMW i7 stands out the one dubbed ' Interaction Bar ', a crystalline piece that crosses the entire dashboard and extends to the doors, which is functional and has adjustable backlighting. But in addition, it accommodates touch controls to manage the air conditioning, the opening of the doors, the position of the seats or other functions.
Since it seeks to position itself beyond the premium segment, there are also exclusive systems, such as heated armrests . The lower part of the dashboard is also heated.

Level 3 autonomous driving. Another of the revealed details of the 7 Series, and therefore of the i7, is that it will have advanced assistance systems that will allow it to drive practically on its own.
Therefore, it intends to stand up to the Drive Pilot that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and EQS equip as an option , joining the group of cars that offer SAE level 3 autonomous driving.
Among its advanced systems, we find the recognition of vehicles and pedestrians at intersections, the reversing assistant, the piloted parking system or even the cruise control specific to the star, Drive Pilot style, which exempts you from having to hands on the wheel on the highways.
When it arrives on the market, the BMW i7 xDrive60 , which opens the ban on the marketing of the new BMW 7 Series, will start at 137,900 euros excluding discounts. As its launch date approaches, we will know all the equipment it will be equipped with.
Given the price , you cannot take advantage of the purchase incentives of the MOVES III plan , since it greatly exceeds the ceiling of 45,000 euros excluding tax (54,450 euros). Of course, as a good electrician, he bears the ZERO label.
However, it won't be the only electric 7 Series: a sporty variant has been announced, which will be the BMW i7 M70. Its power will be 660 hp.
