The BMW XM already has a price in Mexico: this is the most expensive BMW to date

BMW is experiencing one of the most important years in its history, not only because of the migration to the electric age, but also because of the 50th anniversary of BMW M. Part of that celebration has to do with the launch of the BMW XM , the first " Pure M" from the M1 of the late 70s and early 80s. This second pure M is a truck and while it has already surprised many in other markets, it is time for Mexico to know more details, including its price.

A plug-in hybrid with a lot of power

The BMW XM is an SUV, or SAV as BMW would describe it, conceived from the outset as a sports truck, rather than a versatile truck later spruced up with sporty details. For this reason, under the hood we will find a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that on its own already generates 483 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque .

Added to this block is an electric motor and a 25.7 kWh battery that powers it to jointly generate a total of 653 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to all this power, it is capable of moving its 2,750 kg from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and reaching up to 250 km/h as top speed. The gearbox, by the way, is an 8-speed automatic.

The magic doesn't end there, as it also has an adaptive suspension that controls the firmness of the shock absorbers as well as the ground clearance. It has a steerable rear axle and even active stabilizer bars that counteract body roll for better control at all times.

Its brakes are high performance and may have carbon ceramic discs . With these figures, he plans to face other super SUVs such as the Porsche Cayenne, Aston Martin DBX, Lamborghini Urus, among others.

Impressive and controversial design

Since the BMW XM was introduced, it divided the community because of its appearance, some people love its extravagant ways and others can't stand it. The reality is that BMW is achieving its goal, to differentiate itself so much that its cars are a constant topic of conversation.

The XM that we will have in Mexico will be available with 7 colors to choose from for the bodywork, being: Saphirschwarz metallic, Mineralweiß metallic, Cape York Grün metallic, BMW Individual Dravitgrau metallic, M Carbonschwarz metallic, M Marina Bay Blau metallic, M Toronto Rot metallic. Its wheels will go from 21" to 23" and there will be 5 different designs that are available. Meanwhile, the interior will have 4 different color options available.

The interior, for its part, is shown to be a breakthrough that mixes details from the range of electric cars with those of BMW M. It has details such as a touch screen for the 14.9 -inch infotainment system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in a way wireless, as well as wireless charger for cell phones, 12.3" digital instrument panel, interface with sports graphics, ambient lighting that reaches the ceiling, premium audio system, leather seats with multiple adjustments, ventilation and heating, among many other things plus.

It also has carbon fiber inserts, sport cut seats, drive mode selector and fully customizable M1 and M2 buttons, to access a configuration mode that we choose quickly.

All this equipment and performance will not be cheap, since the BMW XM will have a price that will start at $4,200,000 pesos. The brand has not specified that it will include this configuration, but we are sure that on top of that price we can add several hundred thousand more options to make it even more special and to our liking. The brand has said that it will be available in Mexico during 2023, so you will surely have to pre-order to be one of the first to receive one of the most emblematic BMWs of our time.
