The interior of the Tesla Cybertruck will have a rectangular steering wheel and the screen of the least expensive Tesla

Finally, in 2023, the Tesla Cybertruck will be officially launched on the market, allowing those who have already reserved it to enjoy this long-awaited electric pickup truck after four years of waiting and some delays. Production is expected to start in the middle of this year, as confirmed.

We were already familiar with its imposing exterior design, which should see few changes compared to the prototype presented in 2019. However, the interior of the vehicle has so far been a mystery. However, photos recently posted on the owner forum of this electric pickup have finally revealed its interior appearance.

A user from the Cybertruck Owners Club forum shared these images which reveal a portion of the interior of the Tesla Cybertruck. According to the Internet user, the photos were taken at the Texas gigafactory during the annual meeting of shareholders held recently. The user claims to have had the opportunity to board the vehicle and photograph it after being specially invited.

Tesla presents an innovative steering wheel on the Tesla Cybertruck, which immediately catches the eye. This steering wheel is completely rectangular, offering a fusion between the classic round steering wheel and the joystick-shaped steering wheel that can eventually be found on the Tesla Model S and Model X. It retains the same scroll buttons as both types of steering wheels, with the brand name displayed in the center.

It remains to be seen whether Tesla will offer this rectangular steering wheel as an option, just like the joystick-shaped steering wheel, or if it will be the only choice available for the electric pickup. If it were the only choice, it could pose a risk, as in the past British Leyland Motor's Austin Allegro had failed with a similarly flattened top and bottom flywheel, although in this case the flywheel was more square than rectangular.

Moreover, these images reveal the characteristic interior of Tesla cars, with a large touch screen arranged horizontally, thus offering an open space. It appears to be the only screen in the Tesla Cybertruck, unlike the Tesla Model 3 (although that may change when it's next renewed) and the Tesla Model Y, both of which feature a digital dashboard. In addition, no physical controls are visible, which suggests that, as with other models, all features will be managed from the screen.

Beyond these ingredients, there is a storage compartment located under a sliding lid. This compartment conceals cup holders and a wireless cell phone charging platform.

The seats are simple to use and only have a rolling function. However, it is understood that they will be similar to those shown in this patent published early last year, with an integrated headrest having grooves. However, the reclining center seat will not be available.

Over 1.5 million reservations have been registered for the Tesla Cybertruck. According to the brand's financial report for the first quarter of 2023, the preparation of the Texas plant for the production of this new vehicle is already underway, with the installation of the necessary machinery.

Tesla Cybertruck

During the previously mentioned shareholder event, which took place last Tuesday, Elon Musk confirmed that the first units of the Cybertruck will be delivered by the end of the year. Production is expected to reach between 250,000 and 500,000 units once launched.

The demand for this electric pickup is exceptional: according to Electreck, at the end of 2022, there were already 1.5 million reservations. This figure is not surprising considering that in just 24 hours after its reveal, the Cybertruck had already garnered 400,000 reservations.

Regarding the Tesla Cybertruck, we know that it will be equipped with a stainless steel body called "Exoskeleton", which partly explains the delays encountered. In addition, it will offer versions with one, two or three electric motors, and its batteries will offer a range ranging from 402 km to 805 km.
