The Microlino exceeds expectations, confirming that high-end electric microcars have a future in Europe

A year ago, the production of the Microlino was launched. This uniquely designed, yet high-priced electric microcar will arrive in the coming weeks. So far, 1,000 copies of this small quadricycle have been sold, which confirms the enthusiasm met by these models in Europe.

Meanwhile, heavy quadricycles, also known as electric microcars, continue to grow in popularity in Europe, especially in countries where the B1 license exists and can be obtained from the age of 16, such as Portugal, Portugal, Portugal and Portugal. Italy, France and the United Kingdom.

And it is precisely their main claim, the one that leads many parents to prefer that their children travel in this type of vehicle rather than on a moped or a 125 cubic centimeter motorcycle: the possibility for a minor to drive them.

However, these electric microcars also appeal to a wide range of drivers, not just miners. Just look at the number of models that have invaded the streets in recent months, in addition to the popular Citroën AMI which is a light quadricycle: Microlino, XEV Yoyo, Invicta Electric D2S L7 Junior, Silence S04, and add to that the LIUX Geko at a certain time.

Their success is largely due to their practicality in urban environments compared to a traditional car, as well as lower maintenance costs and, normally, a more affordable price. In countries where you can drive from the age of 16, they are logically more successful.

That's why the Microlino, the most peculiar and expensive model in its single category, managed to sell 1,000 units in less than a year of production. This vehicle will soon be available, with a price of around 22,000 euros, which puts it above the Dacia Spring and most models of segments A and B, despite its electric motor of only 17 CV, its maximum speed speed of 90 km/h and a range of 177 kilometers (a version offering a range of 230 kilometers will arrive later).

However, its unique design reminiscent of the BMW Isetta of the 50s has generated a lot of enthusiasm, and people like it very much. As a result, the Italian factory where it is made had to ramp up production in order to meet the growing demand for this car.

Merlin Ouboter, co-founder of Microlino and CEO of the company, expressed his congratulations to all the brand's workers after the production of the 1,000th unit. In his message, he addressed a dart to those who had doubted the launch of Microlino. He stated :

“We are proud to announce that yesterday our production line in Turin saw the release of the 1,000th Microlino. This is a remarkable achievement and a significant milestone that is not easily accessible to the many skeptics in our industry. Congratulations to the entire team for increasing production from 10 to 20 cars per day in just a few weeks!

It should be noted that the range of vehicles released in other countries is now more diverse and includes a more affordable version of the Microlino. This variant has 8 HP and offers a range of up to 95 kilometers, making it an attractive choice at a price of around 15,000 euros. This more affordable price will allow this microcar to reach a wider audience."
