The new Lamborghini Urus is coming and to no one's surprise wants to be the fastest SUV in the world

Lamborghini can't get enough with the   consistent  sales records that the Lamborghini Urus breaks  and is about to squeeze its golden goose a bit more with a new variant.

It will be the craziest Lamborghini Urus and will be presented this year. Before its official presentation, it was seen through a  teaser video  published by the Italian firm on its social networks.

At war with Aston Martin

The location chosen to save the images shown in this preview is a statement of intent: nothing more and nothing less than Pikes Peak. This dispels any doubt as to the version of the Urus that will see the light of day in the coming months.

For a long time there has been proof of the launch of a  rechargeable hybrid Lamborghini Urus  which will share the mechanics with its German cousin, the Audi Q8.

But there is also talk of the arrival of a  high- performance variant  that returns the title of most powerful SUV on the market to the Sant'Agata Bolognese model after passing through the hands of the Aston Martin DBX 707 .

Today, the only Lamborghini Urus for sale uses a 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops 650 hp. The objective is  to exceed the 707 hp of the biturbo V8 of the Aston Martin DBX 707  and to achieve this, it would be necessary to tighten the nuts of the biturbo block of the Urus.

In addition to the ramp-up, this Urus would arrive with a  more radical set-up  . In the teaser that Lamborghini showed on social media, he encourages his followers to pay attention and emphasizes that "performance reaches a new dimension".

So what's coming is an even more beastly variant of the Urus. It could be a  Lamborhini Urus Performante  , but the Italians haven't used that name for a long time.

On the other hand, the  Tecnica name  has recently been used  on the Lamborghini Huracán , which sits halfway between the base version and the  radical STO .

Similarly to the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, the Urus in the teaser has a  specific design , despite the fact that the unit camouflage that appears in the images hides almost every detail of the exterior.

Virtually nothing of the interior is shown either, except for the start button and a roll cage that protects the pilot tasked with  taming this Urus on Pikes Peak.

This version of the Urus will arrive four years after the launch of the SUV. Since then,  more than 20,000 units  have been produced and it already accounts for  more than 60% of Lamborghini sales .

The new variant will help the Urus  continue on the right path  and will share the limelight with the  Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato , which will also arrive in the  final stages of 2022 .

Later, the Urus range will be completed by the  plug-in hybrid version  , which will be part of the  new electrified era  of Lamborghini.

The hybrid successor to the Lamborghini Aventador will mark the start of this stage in 2023 and  the Urus PHEV should be ready in 2024 . To see the first 100% electric Lamborghini, we will have to wait until 2028.
