After almost a year of presenting it to society, Volkswagen is finally bringing the Polo GTI to our market , the latest generation of its most radical city cars.
Now the German brand has announced the price for Europe of this version, which starts at 29,800 euros . A price that, although it is the highest in the entire history of this saga, still represents about half of the 46,410 euros that its equivalent in the Golf range costs .
However, in its own segment, tough competition awaits the Hyundai i20 N , which is priced more than 3,000 euros lower.

But the prices are a fact that depends on the circumstances (and the oven is not for many buns). What is certain is that the Polo GTI continues to prove those who think it has inherited the authentic GTI spirit right. At least, that's how it is for its still contained measurements : 4.07 m long, 1.75 wide and 1.43 high .
It is also the heir of the engine since it retains the 2.0 TSI block of the previous generation, with a power which now remains at 207 hp . The transmission is the seven-speed automatic DSG , thanks to which it achieves a 0 to 100 in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h .
The exterior incorporates all the notes that distinguish this variant from the standard Polo, such as the specific bumpers , the "honeycomb" grilles and the red stripe that accompanies here the entire front light signature, from headlight to taillight. With its starting price of 29,800 euros (which already includes the launch promotion), the Polo GTI loses the cost battle against its biggest rival a priori, a Hyundai i20 N whose price starts at 26,640 euros. But the war between the two has only just begun.
