The Porsche 911 Sport Classic is the modern interpretation of the "ducktail", with 550 HP, manual gearbox and loaded with exclusive details

Porsche 911 Sport Classic

Inspired by the original Porsche 911, sold between 1964 and 1973 and more precisely the iconic 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from 1972, comes the new  Porsche 911 Sport Classic from the 992  generation  . limited it is today the most powerful Porsche 911 available with a manual gearbox.

This Porsche 911 Sport Classic takes up the wide body of the 911 Turbo, but it does not have the two air intakes on the rear fenders which allow air to be drawn into the Turbo. Thus, it looks super strong due to the shape of its rear wheel arches,  which are wide and prominent  like few others.

It is a fixed fin,  made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic  and has the integrated rear third brake light.

The 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition was the first of four special models developed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, and this 911 Sport Classic limited to 1,250 units is the second.

Houndstooth print for a sublime interior

Interior of the Porsche 911 Sport Classic

The interior lives the same exclusive and select spirit that breathes the exterior. We are faced with a cabin marked by the use of the two-tone pattern, with black and  cognac brown  as shades for the semi-aniline leather used in this exclusive 911. In detail, this leather fabric was also used on the 918 Spyder.

The Pepita or  houndstooth print  is present on the door upholstery and the central area of the seats. This fabric was first used as an option on the Porsche 911 in 1965, it was reused in 2013 with the model celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 911 as well as the 1,000,000th 911.

550 CV of power for the most powerful manual 911

Let's get to the mechanics of this work of art. The Porsche 911 Sport Classic, to position itself mechanically  halfway  between the  911 GTS  and the 911 Turbo.

Porsche 911 SportClassique 10

The 550 hp 3.7 biturbo boxer  engine  is a derivative of that which equips the 911 Turbo. It features a variable geometry turbo and is mated to a 7 -speed manual gearbox   .

This gearbox makes it  the most powerful manual 911 to  date. It has the auto-blip system which, when downshifting, automatically performs the heel-toe function to adjust the revolutions to the lower gear.

In addition, the shift selector lever is  shorter than usual  , which makes the movements each time a gear is engaged quick, precise and addictive.

The sports exhaust system is standard, but it has a series of specific and exclusive settings for this model, which make its sound unique. Soundproofing elements have been  removed in  the cabin, so that occupants of the cabin can enjoy it in all its glory.

The suspension scheme is the same as the 911 GTS and Turbo, with   Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive suspension as standard.

As it is a  rear -wheel-  drive model, the load on the front axle is lower than models equipped with the all-wheel-drive system. This led to also specific suspension settings to compensate for the lower load. The same applies to the calibration of the steering and the rear axle steering system, both tuned for the Sport Classic.

The  Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake  (PCCB) braking system is standard, with the brake calipers painted black and the Porsche logo inscribed in white on them.

The price of the  Porsche 911 Sport Classic  is  317,064 euros  . Considering that this is a limited series of 1,250 units for the whole world, there are surely more customers willing to buy one than there are cars available.
