The Tesla Model S Plaid will rival the performance of a McLaren on the track thanks to this new package, despite its power already equivalent to that of a Bugatti Veyron

The Tesla Model S Plaid is one of the fastest sedans in the world. Tesla recently introduced an optional kit, called the " Track Package ", to improve the car's performance on the track. This kit is available for all units manufactured since 2021 and includes carbon-ceramic disc brakes and semi-slick tyres , allowing customers to fully exploit their Model S Plaid 's 1,020hp on the track.

Although the Tesla Model S is one of the oldest electric cars on the market, it has been regularly updated by the brand and remains a reference in terms of efficiency and advantages, not only in its segment, but also among zero emission models in general.

Additionally, the Tesla Model S Plaid is one of the fastest cars available for purchase. With its 1,020 horsepower , it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 322 km/h .

In addition, it offers a range of up to 600 km in the WLTP combined cycle, which is remarkable for a five-seater sedan weighing almost 2,300 kg , measuring 5.02 meters in length and offering a boot capacity of 709 liters. In fact, it is faster than the Bugatti Chiron to reach 100 km/h and can comfortably transport the whole family and their luggage.

However, there are those who feel insufficiently convinced, especially after seeing Tesla's record-breaking performance on the Nürburgring track with this model, although the Porsche Taycan later surpassed it. In any case, it is important to point out that the Model S can also perform well on the track.

However, it's important to distinguish between performance and feel, and few would dare to call the Model S "sporty" no matter how fast it accelerates.

Tesla decided to change our vision of a sports car and launched the Track Package to make the Model S perfectly suited for a day on the track. Although this option is not yet available in France, it can be ordered in the United States from June for an additional cost of $15,000 to $20,000 on top of the price of the Tesla Model S Plaid, which is $107,490 in the United States (in France, it is on sale from 132,490 euros ). However, the price includes shipping to the Tesla center chosen by the customer and assembly.

In return, the customer will be given a set which includes carbon-ceramic disc brakes 410 mm in diameter, with six pistons at the front, two pistons at the rear, as well as a special brake fluid for circuit. It also includes exclusive 20-inch " Zero-G " wheels fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R semi-slick tires , sized 285/35 R20 at the front and 305/30 R20 at the rear.

This kit can be installed on all Model S Plaid models sold from now, as well as those manufactured from 2021. Tesla guarantees that the kit will maintain the top speed of the car and recommends not to use the tires of the pack in winter or in temperatures below 5 degrees.
