This is how artificial intelligence perceives caravanning: motorhomes are converted into buildings

Berlin, Germany-based design and architecture studio Ulises Design Studio has once again caused a stir on social media with their latest creation. Using the Midjourney Artificial Intelligence program, they unveiled a remarkable series of disruptive and surreal motorhome designs, aptly dubbed ' Kinetic Kingdoms '.

These sci-fi-inspired motorhomes, each sporting a unique aesthetic, defy convention by offering multiple floors including living rooms, study rooms, bedrooms and even rooftop terraces. It's a testament to the studio's innovative approach and willingness to push the boundaries, inviting us to imagine a whole new universe of possibilities in the field of recreational vehicles.

According to their creators, these motorhome solutions are nothing more than mere design exercises that are very far from feasible in the real world. However, they show "a new perspective on nomadic life".

The most anti 'Van Life' motorhomes

For some time, Ulises Design Studio has been exploring the potential of Midjourney, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that generates images from textual descriptions. This project, created by David Holz and his team, aims to expand the imaginative capacities of humanity and is managed through the Discord application.

Thanks to this AI, which offers a wide range of possibilities for the entertainment of designers and architects, the studio has already imagined various constructions. They designed central buildings as well as more playful inflatable structures made from recycled plastic. They have also created trees housing restaurants, rising majestically from the middle of the urban landscape, and many other concepts.

Today, Ulises Design Studio has pushed the limits by playing with the "traditional" concept of the motorhome and challenging the gravity, engineering and lifestyle that these recreational vehicles embody, with their latest achievement titled Kinetic Kingdoms.

Given the results, it's hardly surprising that in just a few days, they got nearly a million reactions just by checking their Instagram profile. The controversial view of the study, which has divided its followers, seeks to break with the stereotypes generally associated with motorhomes and nomadic life.

Thus, traditional concepts such as compact vehicles designed only for sleeping and cooking, emphasizing practicality and versatility, are absent in these particular designs.

Ricardo Orts, the studio's founder, says that through his AI-created caravans, you can "explore new, exciting and lasting life experiences, while fostering a sense of community and connection with the world around us." .

Although the durability of these multi-storey motorhomes equipped with amenities more reminiscent of a luxury hotel than a recreational vehicle designed for travel has not yet been proven, it is undeniable that the aesthetic appearance of these designs is striking, oscillating between retro-futurism and surrealism.
